How do I know if it's a scam?

Four signals almost always show up together: strong urgency, a request for money or a code, a strange link, and a sender you don't actually know. If several of these are present, it's very likely a scam. Our tool checks for these signals automatically.

Does the tool replace my bank or customer service?

Accepted Answer

No. It's an assistant to help you decide. If you have a genuine concern about your account, always call your bank or carrier using the official number listed on their website (never the number from the suspicious message).

Are my messages stored anywhere?

The analysis happens directly in your browser. We may keep some anonymous, aggregated statistics (detected keywords, common scam types) solely to improve the tool. We never sell data and never link anything to your identity.

Is the tool 100% reliable?

No. No tool ever is. It's a decision-support aid. If the verdict is "probably OK" but you still have doubts, stay cautious: never hand over money, a PIN code or a password.

What should I do if the verdict is "Scam"?

Don't reply and don't click any links. Block and report the number on WhatsApp or Telegram. For an SMS, delete it. If you've already sent money or a code, contact your bank immediately.

A relative is messaging me from a "new number" — is that suspicious?

Very often, yes. Call your relative on their old number to check before sending anything.

My carrier (Orange, MTN, Moov, Wave…) is asking for my code by SMS — is that normal?

Never. No real carrier ever asks for your PIN or OTP code by message or phone call. If someone asks you for it, it's a scam.
